How much does it cost to rent a Flexar vehicle?
Flexar uses a tiered per-minute pricing structure — the longer you drive, the lower your per-minute rate. Pricing varies by vehicle category:

⏱️ How Rental Time Is Calculated
When does my rental start and end?
Start: The moment you tap "Start Rent" in the app.
End: When you successfully tap "End Rental" in the app at a designated Flexar station.
How exactly is my rental time measured?
Your rental duration is tracked from the moment you start your rental to the moment you end it. Charges are calculated based on the total time elapsed, in accordance with our tiered per-minute pricing.

📏 Distance Charges
Is distance included in my rental?
Yes. The first 50 km of every rental is included at no extra charge.
What happens if I drive more than 50 km?
An excess distance fee of $0.20 per km applies for every kilometer beyond 50 km. This charge is calculated after your rental ends and will appear on your post-rental invoice.
⛽ Fuel Surcharge
What is the fuel surcharge?
A temporary fuel surcharge applies to all ICE (petrol/hybrid) vehicles due to fluctuating international fuel prices and updated weekly basis.
The surcharge rate is determined by the average non-discounted 95-octane pump price at Shell and Esso, measured every Thursday at 12:00 pm. The new rate takes effect from Thursday at 4:00 pm.

🛡️ CDW – Collision Damage Waiver
What is CDW and does it cost extra?
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) is an optional add-on that reduces your damage excess in the event of an accident. It is charged at $0.02 per minute from the moment your rental starts.
No charge if the rental ends within 5 minutes.
CDW reduces the excess (deductible) by $2,000 for own damage and $2,000 for third-party damage. The exact excess amount depends on your profile — please refer to our FAQ: What is Insurance Excess and why do I need to pay it? for full details.
💡 CDW is optional. You can choose to add or remove it before confirming your rental on the vehicle details screen.
What is NOT covered by CDW?
CDW does not cover:
Damage from negligent or reckless driving
Cleaning fees
ERP and carpark charges
Third-party personal injury claims
📅 Reservation Extension
Can I extend my reservation, and is there a cost?
Yes. If you need more time before starting your rental, you can extend your reservation. An extension fee of $1.50 per 10 minutes applies.

Road pricing charges incurred during your rental are passed on at cost, a processing fee and GST are applicable on each ERP charge collected through Flexar. ERP charges are non-negotiable. |
Carpark Fees |
Carpark charges incurred at the start of a rental (before you drive out) may be eligible for reimbursement. Mid-rental parking charges are not eligible. |
Cleaning Fee |
Charged if the vehicle is returned in a condition requiring cleaning beyond normal use. You will be notified before any charge is applied. |
Damage Fee |
Charged if damage is found on the vehicle following your rental. Always use the in-app damage report before starting to document any pre-existing conditions. |

📌 Tip: Always check the vehicle for existing damage before starting your rental and report it in the app. This protects you from being held responsible for pre-existing damage.
